What a sight.
To see friends and family gather in worship to Jesus encourages me so much!
This past Sunday, two families in our church dedicated themselves to raising their little ones to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesse and Mattie King dedicated their daughter, Rylan. Paul and Amy Galle dedicated their two boys, Isaac and Elijah. Child Dedication is an event that takes place at all CrossPoint campuses. It’s a time of celebration, encouragement, and commissioning.
We know we cannot make the children in our church believe. However, we can raise them, love them, lead them, provide for them, discipline them, sharpen them, etc..
Deut. 6:6-7 says, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” The Hebrew word shanan used here for teach means “to whet, or sharpen.” The children in CrossPoint are not dull children. They are set apart from the world to God. CrossPoint parents are missional parents. They are intentional. They are Spirit-filled and obedient.
The event this Sunday showed great attendance—the largest it’s ever been—with 90 people! Loved ones from other churches visited us for the celebration. It is rare that members of other churches would visit us for worship on a regular Sunday, but hosting events like this really opens the door to meet many new people from other local churches. I was happy to see the unity!
The Kings and Galles are members of our church. I’ve been blessed to meet with them fairly often in their homes. I’m looking forward to growing with them at Grow Groups and serving together in the church.
Our children’s rooms are getting finished this week too! So, we will be launching CP Kids ministry at our campus soon! I’m looking forward to seeing God raise up more parents like the Kings and Galles, who will dedicate themselves to following Jesus and raising their children to follow Jesus.
What a blessing it is to be a part of God’s work! Thank you, Lord.
